The Copley Primary School is situated in the city of Halifax in Wakefield Road. It is a primary school coming under the school category of the community type. It is a co-educational institution, with children aged between 4 and 11 years. Presently this primary school has a total of 229 students, and is headed by Mrs. Nan Oldfield. The school aims at giving its students a healthy environment, and to help them in learning through experiences and structured activities. It is a primary school like no other in its vicinity, and is very popular in Halifax.
The Copley Primary School conducts its classes through systematic playing activity sessions, with a pre-set structure of what is to be done. The safe and lively environment created by the experienced staff members, volunteers and also parents/guardians of the child, gives this primary school a very good reputation. These structured activities are meant to enhance the children’s self-esteem, their confidence in themselves, their communication skills, and to develop an over all curiosity in the events of the world and in their own individual talents.
The Copley Primary School has different sections, based upon the child’s age. There are Rising 5 sessions which have children between 3 to 4 years of age, who are to start their schooling in the next academic year. These children have their classes Monday till Friday in the afternoons between 12.35 and 3.05. The primary school also has a special unit called the Playgroup section, which takes in children from 2 years and 6 months above. These are held in the weekday mornings between 9.15 and 11.45.
The fee structure at the Copley Primary School is calculated periodically or whenever needed by a combined group of the parents and school authorities. It is based on the number of children attending each of the sections. Currently the fees are ?4.50 for the Playgroup sections, and ?8 for the Rising 5 sections.
